There have been lots of these felt Christmas trees floating
around the internet and so I thought I would give it a try with the girls.
As we are not buying an actual tree this year, I thought it
would be nice to have something that the kids can enjoy and get into the
Christmas spirit (even if their mother is not).
This was super easy to make and it also provided a few mornings of craft activities to do with the kids.
If you want to try it for yourself you will need:
1 meter of green felt
Pieces of felt in colours of your choice
Glue (I used a hot glue gun $10 from spotlight)
3M Removable poster hangers
Scissors
Tailors chalk
Cookie cutters or shapes to trace
I just folded the felt in half and cut a large triangle to
make the tree. Then hung it on the wall with the poster strips.
For the presents and ornaments I just traced around cookie
cutters with tailors chalk and then cut them out and added extra decoration
(which I glued on with a hot glue gun).
And that is pretty much it!
The hardest part was driving to Spotlight which is in NSW
(There are none in the ACT)
but that was only about 25 mins.
The kids are really enjoying the tree and hopefully it is
something we can use for a couple of years.
What Christmas Crafts have you been doing?
