This morning while lying in bed checking facebook on my phone (as you do when you are a lazy mummy like me) I saw a post on the Fox in Flats facebook page about wearing dresses all this week. I was keen to try this as I love wearing dresses. Then reading on, someone had commented about Frocktober and I was excited. Frockober is a charity challenge where you wear a frock for the month of October. I thought, what a fun way to support research into the early detection of Ovarian Cancer.
To get involved you can either frock up for the month of October, hold an event at your school/workplace/home etc, or you can just donate a few dollars.
I have decided that all the girls in our family will attempt to wear dresses for the whole month of October. This will be a challenge for me, for as as much as I love dresses, I am very much a jeans and T-shirt girl. However with my expanding belly dresses are really the most comfortable item of clothing to wear. I will just be praying to God that He give us here in Canberra record high temperatures for the month of October...."Please God....it is for charity"
I don't think I have 31 dresses but I will try to create a new look everyday and I might even sew a few new ones. I am currently part way through sewing myself a dress so all going well that one will make an appearance. I also have lots of maternity dresses that I can start wearing now that I am getting a bit bigger. I will be placing a pic of me in each dress/look on facebook so you can make sure I do it.
So who is with me? I would love to see others showing off their dresses and I hope that most of you can donate a few dollars to my fundraising page http://www.everydayhero.com.au/mummysundeservedblessings
Cool idea - would love to see dresses you've made :).
ReplyDeleteI'd love to wear dresses everyday - unfortunalty work uniform doesnt allow it, I'll enjoy seeing all the girls in your dresses.
Sounds great Lisa. I've just bought myself some red lippy for fox in flats dare (late I know) but I don't know if I have enough dresses for a week of them! I'll give it a go. And I'll see if we can support you for froktober too!
