Life has
become a little crazy here at the Mummy's Undeserved Blessings household. You
may have noticed fewer blog posts or Facebook posts about me trying to find
balance.
I'm not
sure if balance exists in life, or if life is just messy and busy and hard for
periods of time. Whatever is the case, life is messy and busy and a little hard
for us right now.
Does balance exist? |
I found
myself recently wondering whether life would have been better if I had not
started uni. Not that I would ever want to change it as I am loving my course.
I came to the conclusion that if it wasn't
uni keeping me busy it would have been something else. I seemed to fill
up my life with so many great things.
I am
getting better at learning to say no to things but I also just love being busy,
having lots of wonderful friends and being involved in our church.
My
biggest difficulty as most mums would understand is finding distraction free
time on the computer. I would love to have hours and hours to work on my blog,
be on social media along with writing up my literature review for my uni course
but sadly life gets in the way.
At the moment both my
hubby and I have been going non stop with the busyness of life. We have few
nights at home together and for at least some of those nights one or both of
us is on the computer doing
"work". There just always seems to be something to get done, prepare
for or go to.
Surprisingly,
I think we are managing it well but we know it is not sustainable. Too often I
have heard stories of families of church ministers who never see their
dad/husband because he is so busy giving to everyone else at the church. We are
determined not to be a family like that and despite our busyness we make sure
that hubby's day off (Monday) is kept as a family day. While the girls are
still young and not at school it is a great option.
We also
both see the importance of family holidays and in such a few short weeks we
will he heading to Fiji for 10 days. While there is still so much to do before
then it is something we are all very much looking forward to. It will be a
chance to stop the routine and reconnect as a family.
Hilton Fiji -not a bad way to reconnect with my family |
Until
that time there will be some blog posts from me but mostly I will just be
trying to get a months worth of things done in a week (as usual).
